There are some fantastic interpretive and information boards on display in the shelter explaining how the lock was installed and how it operates. Also on display is an old river barge, The Bunyip, that was used to transport goods up and down the river during the bustling paddlesteamer era. You can walk up into the barge via the ramps and view the interpretive information and images.
The lock is operational for vessels that wish to move between levels from 8am to 11.30 am and 1pm to 4.30pm Australian Central Standard Time (ACST).
