FRUIT FLY OUTBREAK - Renmark and the greater Riverland area currently have a number of fruit fly outbreaks. This has resulted in restrictions applying to the movement of at-risk fruit and vegetables within our region. To further understand these restrictions, please visit fruitfly.sa.gov.au when planning your visit.
Renmark is home to several public art installations and private galleries which embrace the town’s exciting history and the people who have shaped it.
Large-scale murals, including the Paringa Silo Art, and small-medium scale murals, including the Hope Street Mural and Smokehouse Mural are spread throughout the area and serve as conversation pieces, showcasing the region’s agricultural heritage, iconic characters and artistic expression.
Take a stroll along the Matulick Riverfront Trail and pass by some of the town’s statues including the Shi Shi Lion Statue, gifted to Renmark from the City of Shi Shi in China, and the David Ruston Statue, a tribute to the dedication and contribution of local floriculturist, David Ruston.
The centrally located Frank Harding Gallery, open by appointment, is an extremely rare opportunity to view a unique collection of paintings of renowned local artist, Frank Harding (1935 – 1990). Known for his paintings of outback scenes and World War II aircraft, Harding has left a lasting legacy which continues to inspire visitors.
Or, take home your own piece of art by dropping into Lotsa Pots Garden Centre to view Kev's Quirky Creations; garden art cleverly made from old pieces of farming machinery all available for purchase!
